The American Psychological Association (APA) defines Anxiety as an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure, sweating, trembling, dizziness, or a rapid heartbeat. Individuals suffering from anxiety disorders may experience intrusive thoughts or have trouble sleeping, they may also avoid certain situations, places, or people out of worry. The very good news is that anxiety is curable.

So how can I treat my anxiety?

A combination of individual therapy and neurofeedback or medications has proven to be very successful in treating anxiety. When treating anxiety, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat symptoms. However, I primarily use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when treating anxiety. I have found it is the most helpful to find the root of the issue in order to alleviate symptoms of anxiety in a long term way.
